DESCRIPTION:Register for this event \nA live in-person continuing education training is now available for Prime For Life South Carolina instructors. \n*South Carolina instructors are required to attend 12 hours of continuing education training every two years to remain active.  \nParticipants will receive 12 NAADAC hours for attending the two-day CET in its entirety. A survey email will be sent within 24 hours after the end of the conference\, and participants will receive a certificate once the survey has been submitted. The link to the surveys are also available on the instructor site under “My Trainings.” \nThere is no fee for approved South Carolina instructors to attend. Participants are responsible for travel and lodging expenses costs. Relapse risk remains high because long-term high-risk substance use causes lasting neurobiological brain changes that persist beyond detoxification. This session will provide an overview of medications used to treat alcohol and opioid use disorders. Participants will explore how these medications work\, why they are considered evidence-based treatment options\, and how they can support recovery by reducing cravings\, withdrawal symptoms\, relapse risk\, and overdose risk. Yet\, some encourage us to live a life without regrets. This session\, built on the work of Daniel Pink (2022) in his book The Power of Regret\, explores how we might harness this emotion to lead fuller lives without incurring what Brené Brown warns can be the toxic effects of guilt and shame.
