About This Event

*PRI is unable to award hours for sessions previously attended.

CES events are 1.5 hours in length. Participants will receive a survey email after the session, and will receive a certificate once the survey has been submitted. The link to the surveys are also available on the instructor site under "My Trainings." Note, participants must attend the entire session.

PRI supports low-risk driving choices. Therefore, we will remove anyone who is driving on a Zoom call hosted by our team. So as to not further distract, we will not chat or verbally ask questions first. You'll be able to join a different Zoom session, from a stationary place, at a later date.

Description:

Prime for Life has great, research-based content and sometimes people assume it is that information that brings about change. Yet, research is clear there is a huge gap between knowing and doing. In short, it is not the content but the process for how we use the content that “makes the magic.” The PFL process for using information and experiences to create a motivational intervention is drawn from research on persuasion—how to use information to craft an experience that elicits deep thought, reconsidering old beliefs, taking on new beliefs and attitudes, and building motivation for change. Persuasion is an evolving field, and this session will present how new research either confirms the processes we already use or challenges us to think differently. Ray Daugherty has been pouring over persuasion research from the past decade and will share new lessons learned and old lessons reinforced from new studies.
